“Just bought a lovely 2007 Fiesta Zetec Climate, for my eldest daughter about to take her test, from Alex at Small Cars Direct. Huge amount of information and guidance found on the website and arranged a viewing at very short notice. Lovely location in the New Forest and Alex had everything ready for us to inspect when we arrived. The Fiesta was in excellent condition and we were able to take it out for a test-drive.
Happy to purchase the car immediately because Alex had prepared everything and documentation demonstrated a recent annual service (last week), new MOT (valid for nearly 13 months), detailed inspection, full service history and 5-point promise. So we knew it’s full history, no active HPI agreement, not previously written off etc.

Alex was extremely professional and very friendly. No stone was left unturned. We taxed the car on-line during the purchase and have had email confirmation that it has been taxed for 12 months. He has sent off the logbook, the V5C form for us, so we will expect that in the post in a few weeks. We also have a warranty agreement for 3 months valid up to £250 per claim which was complimentary and covered a large number of parts and on top of that, he personally delivered the car to us in Poole this morning with all the remaining documentation, manuals, spare key etc., getting a train back to base himself.

It’s hard to add to the other reviews and say something that hasn’t already been said. I sourced a car from Small Cars Direct and bought it without having seen it or driven it, so good was the level of HONEST information Alex supplied me, a dealer who’s real and prepared to openly share the faults as well as the good points. Lots of photos on FB messenger, plus walkround videos so you know EXACTLY what you’re getting. Let’s be honest, my car is 12 years old (120K miles) so it’s wasting my time to tell me it’s “mint”. Using SCD has saved a huge amount of time viewing cars locally only to be disappointed, and allows you to cast a wider “net” for vehicles that you couldn’t practically visit. My VRS was delivered personally by Alex, a friendly and knowledgeable person. The whole experience was professional, courteous and smooth and based on my experience I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Small Cars Direct. “Bought my car on the 17/01/19 from Alex. Noticed within few days the car won’t start after work. I sat in the car tried starting for 15 minutes & Ignition started. Within 2 days in the morning suppose to be driving for work it won’t start. Took 20/30mins to get it to start.

Rung Alex & he advised to get it checked. My local mechanic checked & advised there is nothing wrong with the car however if it continues need to bring it back. Unfortunately the problem persisted. "I feel I owe Alex (the proprietor) a comprehensive review due to the excellent and outstanding service he provided me as a potential customer and then real customer! I had been looking out for sensibly priced Porsche 911 on and off over the last couple of years, after I’d sold my previous Carrera 3.2 5 years ago before moving overseas. After a long period of monitoring the market I came to realise that a 996 was my best option and stumbled across Alex’s smallcarsdirect business which seems to specialise in this particular Porsche variant, amongst a range of other cars.

After contacting Alex initially to clarify a few facts about the car, I felt assured that I was dealing with a competent professional who cared about what he was doing and was very transparent about the vehicle and all aspects of the sale. It all sounded good on paper, internet, email and phone – I was clear about anything about the car that wasn’t perfect – it’s a 16 year old vehicle with over 100k miles so expect it to show some signs of use! I booked an appointment to see Alex and the 911 on a glorious morning in April. Alex certainly puts himself in the shoes of the customer which was evident from the start by offering me to have a “look around the car on my own” or “would I prefer him to show me around the car”. Everyone’s different and Alex gets that – I opted for 10 minutes on my own to have a good look around in and outside of the vehicle, whilst Alex made me a cup of tea!

Alex was also extremely accommodating around my request for a pre-purchase inspection – Alex was able to drive the car to a local Porsche specialist where it was put up on the ramps to check over. Overall, I was happy with the car as it was offered, so one thing led to another and we agreed a deal to include an additional key (only one was present with the car) and to include resolution of a fuel gauge issue of which he’d previously notified me, with a view to collect and pay for the car a couple of weeks later after the Easter break after a valet/polish and the pre-purchase inspection.

Alex let me know just before I was due to collect it that he identified a weep on the power steering pipe that wasn’t evident previously, so he offered to have that replaced (labour & parts) before I picked up the car – much appreciated Alex.

Sourcing a factory key and having it programmed by Porsche turned out to be a surprisingly logistical mountain to climb, however Alex again did a great job of sorting all of this out for me (logistics and costs) and enabled me to collect the key from my local Porsche centre at a convenient time. He also honoured his commitment to remedy the fuel gauge issue – which was organised and paid for by Alex to be completed by a local (to me) independent – so a great service all together, many thanks.

I was very impressed with the detail that Alex went into when showing the Picanto online. The photos of the car were very detailed as well.

Enquired about the Car on Saturday, Spoke to Alex on Saturday night, Bought the car on Tuesday and had his friend Sam deliver the Car on a trailer to Oswaldkirk, North Yorkshire on Thursday morning.

From the time I engadge him he was up front with all the details of the car. When the car was delivered by Alex and his girlfriend Lisa it was as decribed in the advert, but when I pointed out that there was only one thing missing a retractable parcel shelf, he jump in and out of his own pocket he ordered one from the net which now finishes the car of.

Recently bought a very nice Volvo S40 from Alex.
The vehicle was thoroughly prepared and, in his video presentation, Alex had drawn attention to any and all percieved faults, most of which were so minor as to be otherwise unnoticable!
All round service was excellent, and Alex was able to answer all questions and to quickly sort out all documentation and road tax.
Perhaps most importantly, the vehicle was very fairly priced- several hundred pounds cheaper than some similar models found online.
